Rabbit eye labeled for anti-smooth muscle actin (SMA) in the wet tissue (en bloc) before infiltrating and embedding in GMA.  No staining was required except the hematoxylin counter stain after sectioning. The smooth muscle cells lining vessels were very nicely labeled for SMA using HRP detection and brown DAB substrate in the wet tissue.
